Mata Vermouth Blanco is an artisanal, sweet-yet-bitter Spanish vermouth from the Bierzo region, made with a family recipe dating back to the early 1900s. It uses a base of Doña Blanca and Godello grapes, which are macerated for about 40 days with a secret blend of botanicals like star anise, saffron, and bitter orange peel. The vermouth is then filtered, fortified with wine spirits, and has a small amount of grape must added, resulting in a 15% ABV. It is considered a "sipping vermouth" and can be served chilled on its own with a citrus wedge, or used in cocktails.
